Installation of 3D Panels
Required Tools & Materials
primer for walls
adhesive for mounting plaster boards or plaster moulding
compound for filling the welds also the most appropriate that is offered
container for mixing the glue
slat or lath for laying the first layer of panels
putty knife for filling the welds
sandpaper, rough or smooth
How to prepare the surface?
All backgrounds before gluing should be properly well-cured, have a proper load bearing capacity, constant and homogenous structure, be even, dry and cleaned from the paint, adhesive agents and lubricants remaining – the non-stabile coatings should be removed.
Before gluing a wall should be, whenever needed, levelled with a levelling mortar.
The background should be primed with thistle bond – surface primer – you can also buy at our store
The background should be satisfactorily stabile like, e.g. concrete, brick, particleboards, aerated concrete, plasterboards, etc.
Applying 3D Wall Panels
Prepare a widely available glue for gluing plaster boards or plaster moulding.
Prime the rear part and the sides of a panel and wait until it is dry.
Horizontally install the slat on which the first layer of panels will be based.
The panels should be put on a horizontal area without glue in order to choose the way of arranging the pattern, highly recommended with unequal patterns.
Before applying the glue (on the panel or the wall) you should make a small chamfer on the perimeter of the panel and on the pattern’s side in order to widen the panel’s weld so that the compound will fill the weld better.
If everything is prepared, put the glue on the panel or the wall (no matter where) locally making the so called “patches” or as a whole, using the glue comb.
Stick the panel to the wall leaning it against the slit prepared before.
After you prepared the second panel for gluing (make a small chamfer on the perimeter, on the pattern’s side, put the glue) you can add small amount of the glue on the panel’s side which will stick to the previously installed one.
The panels should be installed along the axis of the slit, no matter on which side, e.g. from the left side to the right one or layers upwards.
When the panels are installed, initially fill the welds with the compound and wait till the glue and the compound are dry.
Next, precisely fill the welds one or two times, after the compound is dry polish it with the sandpaper until the surface of the panel and the weld is equal.
If the panels’ layer is dry and equal with the welds then it should be primed. After the prime is dry, you may apply paints (it is best to use a spray gun). The paints can be standard, widely available, of average quality or decorative with sheen.
